Saint Paul's Place

A mixed use residential and office development in Birmingham’s historic St. Paul’s Square and part of the Jewellery Quarter urban village.

Locaction: Birmingham UK

Project completion: August 2011

Client: Chord Developments

The scheme was awarded ‘best residential development’ at the Insider Property Awards in 2012.

The building is situated in a tight and unusually shaped urban site on a significant slope, bounded on three sides by streets, as well as many existing historic buildings. The solution to this was to set the development around two internal courtyards, one of which features a communal landscaped garden.

The project consists of 148 apartments as well as commercial office space, all served from a common reception and entrance area. The project involved the retention of a historic 1930s art deco façade, which was carefully restored to its former glory. The 1930s art deco theme is recreated in the double height reception area.
